Do Nothing—If you take no further action while the Date/Time/Unit Set screen
appears, the NiTek will return automatically to Surface Mode within fi ve to six
minutes.

Set Screen
Prior to every dive, it is important to ensure that the computer’s current FO
2
settings
match the oxygen concentration in your breathing media. If these do not match, you
must be able to change the NiTek’s FO
2
setting so that it is the same as the gas in
the cylinder(s) from which you will breathe. To do so, you must enter and use the
computer’s FO
2
Set screen.
To access this screen: While in Surface Mode, press and hold button B for at
least fi ve seconds.
What you will see: As shown in Figure 6, when you access the FO
2
Set screen,
you will see the following:

1. Mix Number—This appears only on the NiTek3.
2. FO
2
Setting—This will be either a number between 21 and 99 (if the computer
has been previously set to and held an FO
2
value), or two horizontal bars,
indicated the FO
2
setting has defaulted (see page 31 for more information on
FO
2
Default).
Both the FO
2
setting and mix Number, if shown, will blink on and off, indicating
that they may be changed.
3. “Change” Indicator—Appears in lieu of Mode Indicator.
To change settings: On the NiTek
1
, press button B. If you press this button once and
release it, the FO
2
value will advance by one percent. If you press and hold button B,
the FO
2
value will begin to scroll. This will enable you to move more rapidly between
